BLACK THRONE RECORDINGS (CANADA) x KOZMIK ARTIFACTZ – TEAM UP AGAIN AND KEEP THE SIGNAL FLOWING
Ontario-based trio Cannabus return with their debut full-length Ride the Bus, a slow-moving expansion of fuzz, groove, and dust-coated psychedelia. Rooted in the heavier edges of stoner and desert rock, the album continues the band’s trajectory from loose jam origins into a more defined, but still unpolished, low-end driven identity.
Formed in Welland, Ontario, Cannabus operate in a space where dirty blues rock, heavy psych, and punk-tinged aggression collide. Their sound leans on repetition and weight rather than speed, with riffs stretched into dense, smoky structures that feel both instinctive and deliberately worn-in. Across their earlier EPs, including The Maple Spliff Sessions and The Other Side, the band established a foundation built on long-form jams and heavily saturated guitar tones, shaped into compact but still expansive recordings.
Ride the Bus continues that approach with a more direct focus on groove and heaviness, carrying forward the band’s raw, analogue-feeling aesthetic. Pre-released tracks such as “Far Gone Blues” and “In the Pocket” point toward a tighter execution of their sound without losing its haze-drenched core.
