First Chapter in a whole new Ripple series, The Underground Metal Vault. This series will shed some light on many of the unheralded metal upstart bands that hit the world near the end of the 70's and the early 80's. Inspired by the raw energy of NWOBHM, and the resurging popularity of bands like Judas Priest, the Scorpions and Van Halen, hundreds of hungry metal musicians set out to conquer their corner of the world, producing some of the most energetic, raw, heavy metal ever heard.
Not signed to major labels, these bands never had big budgets for recording or producing, never had a big label push, or big PR, but were just as deserving. So let's bring them back!
Starting off the series is a Bay Area legendary metal band, Violation. Formed in the late 70's the gigged hard throughout the Bay Area, eventually catching the ears of Leonard Haze of Y&T, who then produced 3 songs for their self-released 2-song single, Meet Me At Midnight. Leonard Haze pounded the drums on the B-side Balls Out. Then came a song placement on Shrapnel Records US Metal vol 3, and Mike Varney became a huge fan.
Now, here collected all their recorded output, including songs only ever released on a demo cassette, to bring you the complete Anthology. Welcome to the Underground Metal Vault.
