Front man and creative force Paul Holden had this to say about The Hammer:

'Over the last two years and a whole lot of adversity I've been faced with a decision. Do I use the concept of The Hammer one way or the other. Myself, Matthias Dowle and Ryan Fallis took a week to work through a whole lot of tones and riffs to produce this album. Pretty heavy themes but it's pretty heavy music after all. I hope you all enjoy.'
