With Larking About, the band steps away from a traditional rock / psych setup and moves into a more experimental ambient direction. Built from tape loops, resampling and acoustic instrumentation, the album focuses less on riffs and more on texture, space and subtle movement.

The shift in lineup is reflected in the sound. Instead of guitars, bass and drums driving the material, the record leans on studio techniques, layering and panning to shape its atmosphere. The result sits closer to experimental and ambient work, functioning as a counterpoint to the band’s usual live-oriented approach.

Recorded and mixed in Malmö, with stem mastering and transfer to 24-track tape by Joakim Lindberg, the album emphasizes detail and depth over immediacy, unfolding slowly through tension and anticipation.
