The mighty Argentine progsters BUBU make a triumphant comeback with their 3rd and final album EL ULTIMO CORTEJO. Composed partly based on notes discovered by the band’s mastermind Daniel Andreoli in his parents’ basement, dating back to the Anabelas (1976) period, suffused with sonic elements by an evergreen lineup that boasts some of the finest upcoming musicians from Buenos Aires’ rampant neoprog scene, EL ULTIMO CORTEJO carves new pathways in BUBU’s evolutionary trajectory by blending in their idiosyncratic avant-prog canvas elements of deconstructive tango, carnivalito, and space rock.
The result is a beautiful, uniquely complex masterpiece that fuses a shamanic, mystical, and wild force with classical complexity and the streetwise fury of Buenos Aires, a city that defies time.
The CD version includes 2 bonus tracks, not available on vinyl. The vinyl version, available in 3 colors, is couched in a gatefold cover featuring the spectacular bespoke design by one of Argentina’s finest contemporary painters.
