Description

Barbed Wire Sandwich is the only album by British band Black Cat Bones, released in 1970. The album belongs to the heavy blues rock genre, combining raw electric blues with powerful guitar work, a driving rhythm section and an emerging hard rock intensity.

The album captures the sound of late British blues at a transitional moment, finding a balance between traditional blues feeling and heavier, more progressive arrangements. The performance is direct, raw and energetic, reflecting the conviction of a short-lived band whose members had connections to several important early rock groups. Although it attracted little commercial attention at the time, Barbed Wire Sandwich is now recognised as an obscure but compelling example of early heavy blues rock.
