This vinyl-only release captures Big Scenic Nowhere during the second rehearsal leading up to their debut live show at the Blak Box Theater in Joshua Tree, California on November 20th, 2021. Until that point, most of the band’s material had been created remotely — live studio jams later shaped into finished songs through editing and overdubs exchanged between home studios.
Just two days before the show, the band gathered in a house in Yucca Valley to work out the arrangements for the stage. Tony Reed brought along an 8-track recorder and documented the entire second rehearsal. What ended up on this LP is exactly that session — raw, direct, and unfiltered.
The running order follows the exact setlist prepared for the debut show. For those who couldn’t make it to Joshua Tree that night, this recording offers a rare glimpse of the band working through the material as a live unit for the very first time.
