Formed in 2018 in St. Marys, Georgia, Alone In My Room is a three-piece built on restraint, repetition, and control. The project is led by Ryan Phillips, who handles composition and production, with Nathan Bolls on bass and Matthew Sosa on lead guitar.
Their debut album “Nature of the Beast” establishes the band’s gritty and lo-fi atmosphere that walks the line between gothic post-punk, doom metal and dark-wave without fully settling into either.
The material feels distilled, with a stronger emphasis on repetition and tonal shifts, reinforcing the band’s interest in immersion over immediacy. There’s a consistent thread of occult influences and lo-fi postpunk chaos with themes of existing within solitude, and featuring inspirations from some of the greats such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, and Danzig, all with a welcome touch of dark-wave atmosphere.
For fans of Pentagram, Danzig, Black Sabbath, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats.
